From Bakewell take the A6 Matlock road, follow this till just past the signs for Haddon Hall where you take a right, the
first major junction for Youlgreave, the B5056, then after about 1km take the first left over the bridge.
You then need the 2nd left you come to signposted Birchover.
Just follow the road up to the village, you should see the Millennium stone by the left side of the road, a large rock with a cylindrical hollow cut from it, opposite this is the Druid Inn, Rowtor rocks are located behind it.
Park up in the village then make your way back to the inn, head into the far right hand corner of the car park adjoining the inn, the one marked "staff and deliveries only," there you'll find a small entrance onto the rocks, just follow the path upwards, the Rocking stone is on the North end of the outcrop.
Please note: Due to vegetation on some of the rocks they can be very slippery, there's also areas along the edge where you can easily fall if you get too close, i personally saw someone fall from the rocks, as his attention was diverted by the cave area he failed to notice a small gap by the edge partially covered with grass, he fell around 10 metres, luckily the fall wasn't fatal but could so easily have been had he landed on any of the large boulders below.
